The Ghana School of Law wishes to inform persons intending to pursue the Post-Call Law Course at the Ghana School of Law that, based on a petition to the Chief Justice of the Republic of Ghana and the Chairperson of the General Legal Council, the Council reviewed the Course outline of Professional Law Studies in Rwanda and decided that:
a) The legal system of Rwanda is a hybrid civil and common law system with the common law at rudimentary stages, therefore Rwanda does not have a sufficiently analogous system of law to that of Ghana.
b) The structure of the programme run by the Rwanda Institute of Legal Practice and Development (ILPD) is insufficient to confer qualifications or enable persons to be admitted into the Post-Call Programme.
Hence graduates of ILPD (Rwanda) are not eligible to be admitted to pursue the Post–Call Law Course at the Ghana School of Law.
